Copywriting is a process

But we try to keep it simple at every step. If you’ve never worked with a copywriter, take a moment to read about how we approach things so you know what to expect from working with us.

Project proposal

The first thing we’ll do is give you a fixed-price quote. We don’t change by the hour, per page or per word – we look at the whole copywriting project and quote a project fee. Our quote will only include copywriting – while we’re happy to recommend talented graphic and website designers, we don’t dabble in these arts ourselves. If you’re happy for us to start writing, we’ll organise a 50% deposit invoice.

This is the most important step in the copywriting process because the copy we write for you will be the direct result of the brief you give us. This means you’ll have to spend some time thinking about it and filling in our briefing questionnaire, which is designed to make it easy for you to convey all the information. For a large project, we’ll also have a face-to-face briefing.

Once we have a complete brief from you, we’ll write the first draft of copy. Depending on the size of your copywriting project, we may write a couple of sample pages first to make sure we’re on the right track.

Reviews and revisions

From here, the content usually just needs some tweaking. As part of our copywriting service, we include two rounds of minor changes. If you decide to add information not included in the initial brief or want to change the tone of the copy, we’ll be happy to accommodate it, but we may need to revise our fee.

If this sounds like a good approach, we’d love to hear from you.
